Why Therapy Can Help
-
Many people assume therapy is only for moments of severe crisis or major life events. In reality, therapy can be helpful anytime you feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward.
Life often brings periods of stress, uncertainty, and emotional pressure. Having a dedicated space to talk openly with a trained professional can help you better understand what you’re experiencing and develop healthier ways of coping.
Therapy is not about something being “wrong” with you. It’s about gaining insight, support, and tools that help you navigate life more confidently.
-
It can be difficult to speak honestly about what you’re going through with friends, family, or coworkers. You may worry about being misunderstood, judged, or burdening others.
Therapy offers a confidential space where you can talk openly about your thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
Many people find that simply having a place where they can be fully honest brings a sense of relief and clarity.
-
Sometimes we feel anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck without fully understanding why.
Therapy helps you explore patterns in your thoughts, relationships, and behaviors that may be influencing how you feel.
By gaining insight into these patterns, you can begin to respond to challenges in healthier and more intentional ways.
Annie works with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, and emotional stress, offering a supportive and collaborative approach that helps clients better understand themselves and build resilience.
Annie began her career in psychology as a counselor on the Suicide Prevention Hotline. Through this work, she supported individuals experiencing deep depression, overwhelming anxiety, and moments of crisis. These experiences reinforced an important truth for her: sometimes hope can begin with a single meaningful human connection.
This work sparked Annie’s passion for helping others and led her to pursue advanced training in Clinical Psychology at Pepperdine University.
Early in her career, Annie was drawn to psychodynamic and depth-oriented approaches, studying the foundational theories that shaped modern psychology. Over time, she also recognized the powerful impact of more present-focused therapies and expanded her training to include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
By integrating both insight-oriented and practical therapeutic approaches, Annie is able to tailor therapy to each individual she works with. Her goal is to meet clients where they are, while helping them move toward the life and well-being they hope to achieve.
Support Tailored to You
With training in both depth-oriented psychology and evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Annie integrates insight and practical strategies to support meaningful change. Her work focuses on helping clients better understand their emotional patterns while developing effective tools to manage stress, anxiety, and life’s challenges.
Clients often leave therapy with greater self-awareness, improved emotional balance, and a stronger sense of direction in their personal and professional lives.
Anxiety & Stress Management
Many people experience constant worry, racing thoughts, or the feeling of being mentally overwhelmed. Anxiety can show up in many ways — overthinking decisions, difficulty relaxing, trouble sleeping, or feeling constantly on edge. Therapy can help you understand the patterns behind anxiety and develop tools to manage stress, regulate emotions, and feel more grounded in daily life.Life Transitions & Young Adult Challenges
The transition into adulthood often brings uncertainty, pressure, and major life decisions. Many young adults struggle with identity, relationships, career choices, and the expectations placed on them. Therapy can help you navigate these changes with greater clarity, confidence, and emotional resilience.
Depression & Emotional Struggles
Periods of sadness, low motivation, or emotional exhaustion can make even simple tasks feel difficult. Depression may involve feeling disconnected, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. Therapy provides a supportive space to explore these feelings, identify underlying causes, and gradually rebuild a sense of energy, hope, and emotional balance.
Relationship & Personal Growth
Relationships play a major role in our emotional well-being. Challenges with communication, boundaries, or recurring patterns can lead to frustration and confusion. Therapy helps you better understand your relational patterns, strengthen communication skills, and develop healthier ways of connecting with others while also building confidence in yourself.
